On January 20, while we were traveling around New Orleans visiting friends, we stopped by Jackson Square to see the Cathedral at night. It turns out, that the garden in front of the Cathedral had already closed since it was dusk. Originally, Andrew had planned to propose there. He and his friends did some quick thinking and decided that we would take a horse-drawn carriage ride through New Orleans.
From there, our friend told us to go look at some of the carriages while she and her husband secretly talked to the carriage driver to let him in on the plan. The driver took us on an hour-long journey around New Orleans and stopped at a location was great for people to take a few pictures. In addition, there was a small hotel where Elvis had stayed. We got off the carriage and went to check out the area and take some pictures. As our friend Morgan was taking pictures of us in front of the hotel, Andrew got down on one knee.
